Recover 11 millimeters of Z-axis travel with this printable modification for your Makerbot Automated Build Platform. By relocating the motor to the back, the platform shrinks vertically. Laser cuttable parts are provided. Advantages include improved build height, use of included hardware, lighter weight, and enhanced movement performance. Potential issues involve incorrect nozzle cleaner printing, trimming of nozzle cleaner on inner piece, gear interference with Makerbot's window, melting or deformation at high heat levels, and possible need for shimming due to printing tolerance inaccuracies. Note the corrected Blender source files and images displaying a flipped wood base for heating PCB. When printing, ensure extra shells are set in Skeinforge, replace sides and front pieces with provided parts, and reverse belt motor terminals for proper operation.
