Above Ground Pool Pin
thingiverse
The author shares their experience of dealing with broken pool pins for an Intex above ground pool. Every year, they face this issue and decided not to order the replacements as it would take a week to arrive via UPS or any other courier service. Instead, they measured the pins, modeled them on their computer, and made drop-in replacement pool pins by combining two halves and trimming the bottom part. They tested the fit without filling the pool with water but confirmed that it worked all summer long without shearing issues. The instructions for others are to print one or more pins, insert them into the pool, and if worried about shearing, print them solid or with thicker walls; however, the author adds an update stating double-thick walls are sufficient.
