Now that I am in a larger house, I was needing a bigger and more adaptable enclosure so the "A Better Lack Enclosure" was created! I, like many 3d printer owners, have more tools than just a 3d Printer. If you have a table saw this connector system allows you to build a custom and expandable enclosure that can be designed specifically for your area and printer. There is no limit to the combinations and sizes of an enclosure or table you can make. The only additional tool you need to build using this system is something to cut 2x4's into 1.25" square dowels. I used a tablesaw and trimmed down some 2x4's that have a normal dimension of 1.5"x3.5". This makes the ABLE system about the same price or maybe even less to build than the Prusa LACK table system. I built the table in the image for around $50. This corner connector has several features: - Allows one leg to pass through - Each of the three inside corners have five supports placed every 0.25" - Each of the three inside corners have a support for a plexiglass window, with spacing at 0.125" and will work with a 0.098 or 3mm window - Hinge pin holes are available on every side or every leg Assembly Notes - Recommended fastening screws - All connector screw holes are sized at 0.175" - Corner and non-passthru = 1-1/2" x #8 - Pass-thru = 3" x #8 - All window slots are 1/8" and will be good for 3mm or 0.098" Plexi-glass - The inside of the Connectors will be 0.5" greater than the length of the 1.25" Wooden Dowels - For example, if you want to place a 24" square window inside the brackets, you will need to cut the length of the wooden dowel to 23.5" - Each corner of the Corner Connector and Extended Connector has spacing to place support boards at 1/4" increments to either the inside or outside of the support beams.
