3D scan of a giant tortoise from the Galápagos Islands, Ecuador, created by the [Natural History Museum of Vienna](https://www.nhm-wien.ac.at/en) under license [CC Attribution-NonCommercial](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/). For a long time, the giant tortoises of the Galápagos volcanic islands were seen as one species. Now they are considered to be separate species, most of which were eradicated in historic times. Chelonoidis abingdonii - of which one specimen is shown here - lived on Abingdon Island. This specimen was acquired by the NHM Vienna in 1914. The original and more information can be found at [sketchfab / NHMWien](https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/abingdon-island-tortoise-nhmw-zoo1-hs-4196-8755da165bb84d4d89117c1b5af312c6), the following changes were made: * Geometry decimated from ~ 200k triangles to ~ 100k * downsized to 10% of the original size * object aligned * STL file without errors Note: Support material is required. Scaling according to your own desire, make sure that the tail is still printed! Info: An animated version is available at https://skfb.ly/o6JWL Update: other pose added, needs more support.
