At Abercrombie Park in St. Petersburg, Florida, a small remnant of a prehistoric mound remains visible as a circular embankment. The original mound stood about four feet high and fifty-eight feet across, its surface composed of sand and shell. In the 1920s, excavated fill from the mound was repurposed for local street construction projects. A salvaged sign, once displayed on a nearby house lot, now commemorates the long-lost mound's original location.
