For every Abarth enthusiast out there, this print marks an incredible milestone - the 70th Anniversary of ABARTH. Carlo Abarth founded the company in 1949 with a bold vision: to craft high-performance race cars based largely on Fiat's models. The legendary Fiat Abarth 595 SS and 695 SS, as well as the iconic Autobianchi A112 Abarth, remain some of the most revered vehicles ever produced. Interestingly, Carlo Abarth's zodiac sign is the scorpion. This logo, a testament to ABARTH's rich heritage, consists of multiple components carefully assembled together. At its core lies the badge itself (200mm high and 180mm wide), with designated spaces for additional elements in various colors. The top black-and-white logo is divided into three distinct sections. In contrast, the main part is printed face-down on the mirror to achieve a glossy finish. While you can cut it using a Scotch-Brite sponge for a matte surface, be sure to keep an eye on smaller components and tricky areas that may not adhere well without glue. Printing this design without adhesive yields better results, but requires vigilance when handling the smaller parts and specific regions prone to detachment. I printed all components on my stock CR10 using PLA Arianeplast filaments, with the main part crafted from silver metallic filament. To ensure optimal adhesion without glue, I heated the bed to 72°C and the cabinet (housing my CR10) to 27°C. The nozzle temperature was set at 220°C, with a first layer speed of 50% and height of 60%. As no support is necessary, I opted for an infill percentage of around 30% and used two layers for walls. For the top and bottom surfaces, I employed four layers each, achieving speeds ranging from 55 to 10 mm/s depending on part size. The design was meticulously crafted using Solidworks, incorporating a small gap between components for easier assembly. To facilitate construction, I added a support system consisting of three parts - you'll need to secure the smallest bottom component with glue and utilize an M4 x 30mm screw to stabilize the foldable leg. My son is thoroughly enthralled by the current Fiat 500 Abarth, and I'm optimistic that he'll be able to purchase one in the future. This vehicle embodies everything a sports car should be: exhilarating performance and an intoxicating roar. Once again, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to ABARTH on its milestone anniversary and express gratitude to Carlo (Karl) Abarth for his pioneering spirit. As Abarth is now under Fiat's ownership, I hope they will allow me to share this design with fellow enthusiasts.
