Abandoned Building - Factory Leipzig East
sketchfab
Here’s my latest scan! This Jewel is situated in Leipzig's eastern sector and represents the last surviving structure of the massive Karl Krause Machine factory, which employed at least 1500 people at its peak. Constructed in 1913, it was initially used to manufacture book binding and printing machines, with the first photocopying machines also being produced here. Production ceased in 1994 after the factory was taken over by the Treuhand as part of the DDR unification process. I captured this building using a Mavic 2 Pro, resulting in around 1500 images. Subsequently, I utilized RealityCapture to compute both a 200 million and a 600K poly version. I then transferred detail from high to low via Normal Maps (this time directly within RC, delivering exceptional quality!). Finally, I generated roughness and metalness maps through ShaderMap4 and performed some manual editing. For the first time, this scan also incorporates vector displacement maps for offline rendering! The Model consists of 1 600K poly FBX, along with 30 8K textures across six UDIMs.
