The iconic abacus atop this grand capital is famously known as "The Price at His Toilet." Conscripted into the court of King Darius the Mede in Babylon during his exile, the renowned prophet Daniel falls prey to a sinister conspiracy and is hurled into the lions' den to be devoured. In a poignant pose, Daniel kneels at the center, adopting the traditional posture of one offering prayers, while two ferocious lions flank him on either side. The inscription above proudly declares: "DANIEL AMONG LIONS." Overwhelmed by the miraculous intervention of God that saves Daniel's life, King Darius orders his release from the lions' den; meanwhile, those who falsely accused the prophet are cast into the den themselves. According to biblical account, they were instantly consumed - hence the second inscription boldly proclaiming: "THEY ARE CONSUMED IN AN INSTANT."
