AARP "Dynamic A" Whistle 1
thingiverse
The default size of this version, which doesn't have a lanyard lug, is set too large, breaking the whistle sound. You need to print it at a Z height of 8mm, not 10mm. I'll post an updated model here. The first AARP logo whistle is working! Thanks to my friend Doug Duarte in ITS for lending me his MakerBot Mini to the innovation lab and suggesting that the logo be made into a whistle. I created the logo outline and the shape of the interior air cavity in Adobe Illustrator. Then I imported both SVG vectors into TinkerCAD and set the air cavity shape as a hole. The resulting model was sent to the Thingiverse site and downloaded into the MakerBot software on my laptop for printing. This first one took 38 minutes at standard settings with dimensions set at X: 50.75 mm, Y: 36.10 mm, Z: 8.00 mm. In the next iterations, I'll add a lug at the top for a lanyard and print in red.
