I've adapted my setup to use AAA batteries instead of AA. Using an adapter, I've found that a 6 mm M4 countersunk head screw is all it takes to complete the conversion. At home, I'm employing this solution because I have several cordless phones with rechargeable AAA batteries, while kids' toys require AA batteries. To keep things running smoothly, I simply swap out the charged batteries from my cordless phones for empty rechargeable ones. This way, when I need them again, they'll be full and ready to go. I've found that this system works great for me, and it's definitely helped reduce waste.
