A8 SKR1.4 Marlin Firmware
thingiverse
I recently upgraded my A8/AMT8 with a cutting-edge 32bit SKR 1.4 motherboard. The printer and firmware now boast advanced features such as ABL with an inductive sensor, stallguard, and basic setup for TMC2209 drivers with stallguard. To get started, I'm using the Anet A8 e3d v6 Bowden Print Carriage Redux by dldesign - be sure to adjust your probe offset accordingly if you're not using this exact setup. My printer is built on the AMT8 frame, but this guide should work with any frame of similar dimensions, such as the stock A8. The printer is now up and running smoothly, with all features functioning as expected, including ABL, sensorless homing, and more. While it may require some tuning to get everything just right for your specific setup, this should be a great starting point for anyone with a similar configuration. To help others with their own upgrades, I've included a DIY mount design for the SKR 1.4 board + AMT8 on Thingiverse - keep in mind that it's not the most polished creation, but it works and might inspire you to come up with something better.
