A8 Fan Assembly

A8 Fan Assembly

thingiverse

I've created a Fan Mount for my ANet A8. I wanted something that moves out of the way easily. This design removes the Heat Sink and turns the fan around so it blows in over the assembly and exhausts past the stepper motor. I used the same 3mm screws that hold the assembly onto the extrude but added a few spare nuts to tighten it down. The fan is held to the assembly using some wood screws I had laying around. The pivot point is a 3mm rod that I cut from a cotter-pin. Any 3mm rod will work, and it's a tight fit on purpose because I want the fan to stay where I put it. I needed to hammer the rod into both parts gently. When printing, rotate both parts on the Y axis. On my first print, I did a flip instead of a rotate, which messed up the orientation. I've included the STLs and Inventor files so you can re-mix and improve them. Feel free to make suggestions or ask questions. That's what the community is all about. Happy Printing!
