First off, let me say that any donations for this design are greatly appreciated, thank you very much in advance! This item is a reel holder designed specifically for the A8 Desktop 3D Printer Prusa i3. I created it because my filament was interfering with my limiter switches when my z-axis started to get high due to being held at the bottom of the printer. So, I decided to design a Reel holder that would hold the reel to the top left of the printer and prevent the filament from getting in the way of any important functions of your printer. The smart design allows it to simply clip onto the frame of your printer without requiring any fastening, holding itself in place using the weight of your filament spool. I designed this reel holder to hold a 70 mm wide spool of filament; however, I have included an unmerged file that has a torus unmerged from the rest of the body so you can move it to be as wide as you require before printing. If you're going to use this design, I suggest not using Cura and instead using another slicer program such as Slic3r. The reason for this is that Cura attempts to downscale the file to 83%. However, I designed the parts to fit exactly, so this downscaling would prevent the holder from fitting correctly. I have included three files in this design: Reel holder 3D, which is for slicing using Slic3r; Reel holder merged, a 123D design file that's ready for saving or modifying if needed; and Reel holder unmerged, an unmerged 123D design file with a torus that can be modified to change the width of your reel holder.
