A8 Back Brace
thingiverse
This is a quick stiffener that attaches to the back of an A8 frame. I'm working with a SainSmart A8. I've noticed many users cursing after running a long print on an A8 accessory only to discover their model has slightly different dimensions than expected. This design, however, is highly adaptable. As long as the acrylic frame measures 8mm, you're good to go. That being said, this particular stiffener uses wood instead of traditional materials. I have access to a table saw and leftover plywood scraps, making it relatively easy to create custom parts for my printer without relying on printing technology itself. I glued the plywood securely onto the clips, which simply snap into place at the back. This modification significantly reduces frame wobbliness, resulting in noticeably improved print quality almost instantly. To put this in perspective, my printer is located in the attic, surrounded by old sweaters and Christmas decorations. My workshop may be cluttered, but it's not as chaotic as some might think.
