A6M2 Zero Fighter Desktop Model

When I first started printing with white ABS, I needed to come up with designs that showcased this base color. Printing the Starship Enterprise was a good starting point, but it left me wondering what else I could create. One of my favorite aircraft is the Zero fighter, which originally had an all-white finish on its early models. This was perfect inspiration for my next project. After some CAD work and printing, I now have a detailed model sitting on my desk, right alongside my P-51, B-17, and P-40. However, this model has pushed the limits of my UP! printer's capabilities, resulting in some software clipping issues. Although it still prints well enough not to require any immediate adjustments, there are some lost details that I won't be addressing anytime soon. The model features retractable landing gear that can either be glued or friction-fit into the wing for a more realistic look. There's also an included stand for display purposes. The propeller comes with two options - a hub-only design to simulate spinning motion, or a complete 3-bladed model for added detail.
