This custom spacer is engineered to fit an A4988 Stepper Motor Driver Module perfectly. The primary function of this spacer is to enable mounting an A4988 Stepper Motor Driver Module on a 32 mils thick PCB with ease. This allows the pins to just barely protrude through the PCB, making soldering a straightforward process. The pins on the A4988 Module are approximately 220 mils long, while the spacer measures 115 mils in thickness. Combining this information with the fact that the PCB is 32 mils thick, we can calculate that the pins will extend 73 mils below the board after mounting the module and spacer together. With the A4988 module attached to the spacer on top of the PCB, the pins will protrude 73 mils from the bottom of the board, providing ample space for soldering. This custom design was created using the freeware version of EMachineShop.
