This design builds on the outstanding work of vietquocnguyen. The modifications I made allow the sock itself to generate additional insulation between the heater cartridge and thermistor wiring, preventing damage to the mainboard from shorting those lines via the hotend. The base design is a simple slip-on design that requires no disassembly of the hotend. It also features the ability to press the thermistor into place with the sock between the screw and thermistor, although this may require partial disassembly of the hotend. If you're planning to disassemble the hotend anyway, consider my own design at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3633287, which creates a thicker sock for maximum insulation and easier casting (less air bubble formation). This design cannot be pushed onto the hotend without disassembly. The Clamp is an optional part that seals the bottom of the mold. Casting: Before casting silicon into the mold, apply anti-adhesive spray. I achieved good results using baking spray like PAM. For casting, I use "TFC Dubliersilikon S-ROT mittelhart Shore 33 1 1 HB", but any temperature-resistant silicone like Mold Max™ 60 Silicone should work fine. About 10-15ml of material is required, as shown in the picture. I also use an ultrasonic cleaning bath to shake air bubbles to the top. Alternatively, others attach a toothbrush with tape to the mold and shake it.
