The abstract swan sculpture forms part of Muzeon's massive collection, which boasts the title of Russia's largest outdoor sculpture museum. Unique Soviet-era monuments have been assembled since the museum's founding in 1992. These monuments, built between 1930 to the 1950s, served not only as propaganda tools but also enhanced the city's view. Take for instance the Dzerzhinsky statue by Evgeny Vuchetich and Gorky's statue designed by Ilya Shadr and constructed by Vera Mukhina's cooperative association; they were Moscow's central square monumental themes for a long time. Many significant artifacts from the socialist realism era, numerous busts of labor heroes, and traditional portraits of USSR leaders are also present in Muzeon's collection. As the country's political course has changed, these unique monuments have been treated differently by the museum. One may debate the artistic significance of these sculptures, but their historical importance is beyond question: they are artifacts of an era essential to its analysis. Consequently, conserving and scientifically describing them remains one of Muzeon's primary objectives.
