A Victorious Danish Soldier
thingiverse
The Victorious Danish Soldier stands tall in The National Gallery of Copenhagen, Denmark. Herman Wilhelm Bissen created this masterpiece between 1850 and 1851 using Memento Beta software from AutoDesk. Bissen honors the common Danish foot soldier who fought bravely during the war of 1848-1851, a time when the Danish government protected its territories in Schleswig and Holstein from leaving the Kingdom of Denmark. This sculpture makes history by being the first European memorial to victory that does not feature a goddess, a general, or a monarch but rather an ordinary soldier who fought on the battlefields.
