a tin can ashtray (for Feierabendbier :-) )
thingiverse
a more usable thing than pretty, as you can see yourself. the lid normally fits on almost every 0.33ltr or 0.5ltr tin can with an outer diameter of 67mm (see also wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drink_can ) uncritical print : no supports, no special layer heights,... needed. I normally do them with 0.2mm layer and 33% infill. ( the objects are *not* manifold, but they print ok with slic3r. the non-manifold-state comes from the components of sketchup, which all are manifold by itself, but : their combination is not ) ========== just for fun : please publish your "I MADE ONE" - pics with your local beer or your personal beverage I'm looking forward to the uploaded results ========== when we have a beer in the office, there's always a need for a lot of ashtrays. so I designed a little part that fits almost perfect on top of an ISO-tin-can (beer, etc). the container is large, can be exchanged easily,... there are A LOT of empty tins on these evenings. just cut off the top of a tin-can, !!! be careful not to hurt yourself !!! but it's very thin tin-material, easy to cut with a sharp knife or an exacto-knife. to improve there's a detail that simply glues on top, which holds the cigarette for a moment. and there's a kind of lid to close the hole if there's too much smoke (stops glowing, too). feel free to use it, and feel free to improve if you like. greetings from germany MrD65 p.s. quote from german wiki page "...Die verbreiteten 330- und 500-ml-Getränkedosen haben einen Durchmesser von 67 mm..."
