A suggestion for a new support type- I Call it "Ramifications"
thingiverse
Here's a new approach that takes off from the printed part itself instead of the print bed. This way, we can save material and reduce printing time. I've run two tests to see how it stacks up, and I'm convinced there's room for improvement in the design. Adding a slinking algorithm would be a great step forward - maybe someone could whip one up in Cura. I've attached some pictures and models of the parts being compared. What do you think? Can we develop this algorythm? This is an open-source suggestion, so claim no rights. I just want it to be called "Ramifications". Note: STL files need a 90-degree rotation.
