This is a demonstration of a way to have springs in your assembly actually move and look like springs. It is made of a lot of quarter spring segments and the mates are what is actually flexing, not the solid model. I also put a limit mate on there to keep the plunger from plunging too far.
The model to open is "total spring.sldasm".
I presented this to a SolidWorks User group on April 14th and it appeared as a SolidProfessor tip shortly afterwards. Coincidence?
