a slip on filter holder for a fuji s9400w
thingiverse
I need to photograph an eclipse on March 20th and capture other images of the sun. This disc will slide over the lens at full zoom, allowing me to insert a filter from some solar glasses inside to filter the sun's rays. I'll include a photo of this item once it's printed - it's my first design, so I hope it turns out well! This accessory could also be used to hold other filters as well. I just increased the height of the cap after realizing that when I tried it today, it fell off. So, I've given it a lot more neck to sit better on the lens. The following instructions must be followed carefully: You'll need to place items on your bed - I'm still learning how to use this process. First, print the pieces of the accessory and then take a solar glasses filter and cut it to fit inside the cap. Once fitted together, attach the entire assembly to your camera lens. The details about printing are as follows: The parts were printed at 0.3mm thickness with a 10% fill level using two shells. The whole printing process took around 24 minutes to complete. Ideally, I should have used a screw thread for this design, but since I'm new to creating 3D objects, I went with something quick and simple instead!
