A selection of Rings
thingiverse
I've been experimenting with basic ring designs, mainly to test my printer and expand my knowledge of CAD software, which I've had for ages. One of these rings is something I wear every day - it replaced a silicone band that got lost while scuba diving, which itself replaced a titanium band that also vanished during a scuba dive. It's pretty clear why I should create my own rings now. I'm planning to design more as the Reverend of The Church of The Flying Spaghetti Monster, so I'll be working on some FSM-themed rings soon. That's all to say - keep an eye out for new designs that you might find cool. A Quick Note: I printed a first version of the FSM ring, but my printer's resolution didn't do it justice. So, I created a less detailed design until I get a smaller nozzle to try again. These rings are U.S. men's size 11 with a circumference of approximately 20.57 mm. You can scale them up or down to fit your needs. After searching the web for a ring size chart in JPG format, I couldn't find anything I liked. However, I found a fairly comprehensive one on Wikipedia that aligns with my preconceived ideas and opinions (which is crucial online). Check it out: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ring_size To scale the model to fit you, take the diameter of your desired ring size and divide it by the diameter of these rings (20.57 mm), then use that number to determine how much to scale the design. For example: Say you want a U.S. size 13, which is 22.4 mm in diameter. The math would be: 22.4 / 20.57 = 1.087 or 8.7% So, go ahead and enjoy!
