Pushkin, our everything. A rather workmanlike sculpture of Alexander Pushkin, by Aldona Nenasheva from Muzeon Park of Arts is sort of stuck in a corner between two sidewalks of Muzeon. If you walk along the embankment under Krymsky bridge from Gorky park you will arrive at the Park of Arts Muzeon. It is one of the largest Russian outdoor museums where disgraced leaders share their place with diverse creations by contemporary sculptors. There are more than 700 minor and major works made of stone, wood, bronze, and other materials here. Among the sculptures of modern artists there are works by Vera Mukhina – a prominent Soviet sculptor, the statue of KGB founder Felix Dzerzhinsky, and Lenin and Stalin monuments. To complete the art tour, visit the New Tretyakov Gallery. The New Tretyakov is the premier venue for 20th century Russian art. It displays works by Russian avant-garde masters such as Malevich, Kandinsky and Chagall, the collection of Socialist Realism, art of the “Severe Style” and “underground.”
