A Ripple Effect
cults3d
Waves on your desktop! A 3D version of the Mechanical Pseudo Sin Wave thing, this thing emulates a 3D ripple in 8 bit format. And who wouldn't want that? Video of prototype is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAEzt5Ofht0. Hand cranked version is here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:362684. Designed using Sketchup 8 and printed in PLA on a Makerbot Replicator 2 using Makerware 2.3.3.42 "Standard" settings. Build one and make some waves. Caveats: 1) Avoid turning it upside down. 2) Requires at least 1g of vertical gravity to function properly.
