Lavaland Luminaries Reign Supreme, Don't They? We've reached an era of unprecedented technological prowess, boasting addressable LED strips, microcontrollers, and a DIY electronics revolution in full swing. This convergence of innovation has driven me to create a cutting-edge lava lamp that showcases the best of modern maker ingenuity. Feel free to embark on this creative journey yourself, and I may even share the OpenSCAD file if you express genuine interest. Be warned: it's a work in progress and requires some technical expertise to master. The key component in making this lamp truly mesmerizing lies within – something shiny that reflects the surrounding environment with style. I employed a 10mm aluminum rod, which proved to be an excellent choice, paired with the user-friendly USBlinky Kit available from hackerspaceshop.com [1]. Supports: - None, as it's an overhang-free design. Resolution: - Fine-tuned at 0.3mm precision. Infill: - A 100% density ensures strength and integrity. Notes: Lamp Construction The printing process of the lamp took approximately sixty hours to complete. To achieve a clear light guide effect, it is imperative that 100% infill settings are utilized alongside CLEAR filament. When printing the stand, use build plate touching support material. Using black or white filaments will yield attractive outcomes. Assembly: - First, carefully attach the Ledstrips and integrate the controller (my choice of usblinky[1]). - [1] https://www.hackerspaceshop.com/blinky/usblinky.html - Next, assemble stand and lamp, utilizing four wooden screws (3mm diameter and 6-10mm length).
