A Pergolesi chair
myminifactory
This chair draws inspiration from the decorative designs of Michelangelo Pergolesi, a skilled Italian silversmith and engraver who flourished in London between 1777 and 1801. During that time, he published Designs for Various Ornaments, a collection featuring neo-classical designs for interiors, furniture, silverware, and other objects. English craftsmen utilized these designs, but this chair's delicate, slender legs and intricate carving and coloring are reminiscent of northern Italy, where Pergolesi began his career and where his work likely circulated as well.
