A Much Better Hatchbox Alpha LED Fan Shroud
thingiverse
Here is a new design for cooling the Hatchbox Alpha. My previous designs attempted using the stock fan and fan mount but I could never find a combination that cooled as much as I wanted, so this design was created. Now I can print almost anything! With two "squirrel cage" fans purchased here (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078SQS6MX) for ten dollars, the airflow to the nozzle is significantly improved in comparison. As seen in the pictures, the vent is very nearly 180 degrees and one full centimeter wide all around. There is also ample space between the nozzle body and the fan shroud to prevent its melting due to nozzle heat. Designing a fan shroud for a delta type of printer is particularly challenging due to the fields of motion that the poles on the raft corners require, but there is plenty of room above the raft, even with all axes in the "home" position. Therefore, I expanded into this area. In short, this design allows full freedom of motion and cools extremely well. I have included four design types: one with two fans as an option and one with one fan as an option - and then one of each with the LED notches in case you have added that from my other design. You may need to purchase longer machine screws, I had to.
