I am replacing the original idle stop screw knob on my Honda motorcycle CB400 Vtec carburetor with a custom-made part. The genuine knob that came with the bike was damaged, and upon closer inspection, I discovered it was made from a plastic material that had cracked under stress. To resolve this issue, I designed a new knob using 3D printing technology. When creating the replacement part, it's essential to consider the environment in which it will be operating. The area near an engine can become extremely hot, posing a risk of damage to the printed component. Therefore, it's crucial to use a filament that can withstand high temperatures. ABS or heat-resistant PLA are suitable options for this application. Normal PLA filament is not recommended due to its lower thermal stability.
