A More Secure Raspberry Pi Case

As a crucial element on a recent project, I demanded a far more secure housing for a Raspberry Pi. The assignment necessitated the permanent attachment of the Raspberry Pi within a cabinet at a high-traffic public space. Key security requirements were outlined: Screw-tightened case halves Fully sealed SD card to prevent tampering Mounting points were mandatory GPIO pins had to be conveniently accessible Upon researching existing options, I discovered numerous designs, but none catered to all my essential demands. Consequently, I devoted a few hours reworking an available design from Thingiverse that met most of my requirements. The modified Sketchup file has been included for anyone who wishes to fine-tune it further. In addition to the design, I have included printable tabs intended to mitigate warping during production. These can be effortlessly eliminated using either an Xacto knife or needle-nose pliers. Credit goes out to SKG, whose pioneering work provided an excellent starting point! **Assembly and Printing Guidance** During printing, separate case halves in a single-plate configuration should ensure that the support material is turned on. Failing this crucial step will compromise the print quality of the SD card cover. For fastening purposes, I recommend employing the same type of bolts specified in SKG's original Raspberry Pi Case with Hex Bolts, featuring metric socket cap dimensions: 6374 from BoltDepot.com (Stainless steel, 2.5mm x 0.45mm x 16mm). An assortment can also be procured at local Home Depot or Lowes hardware stores. Additional tabs have been included to minimize the possibility of warping. These printed reinforcement strips can easily be excised with an Xacto knife or needle-nose pliers for smoother assembly and integration.
