In movies, spacecraft like X-wings are depicted flying like planes; however, in space, there's no atmosphere, lift, or drag to restrict movement. Thus, they need thrust placed all over the ship to enable lateral flight. A more realistic scenario for a space battle would involve small cubes or spheres with thrusters and rotating guns for quick movement in any direction. As for the models, the tiny fighter can be 3D printed using a cupcake or reprap, while a powder-based printer is recommended for the large bomber due to overhang issues.
