The Giorgis or Zorzi family was a powerful clan of Venetian descent who dominated the Late Middle Ages, particularly in what remained of the Latin Empire in Greece. They skillfully maintained control over the Margraviate of Bodonitsa and secured their hold on the Duchy of Athens through strategic marriages, until their rule was eventually toppled by the Ottoman conquest.
