A Heckin' Spooky Mask

A Heckin' Spooky Mask

My current Halloween mask from last year is something I've decided to share since I'm actively working on a new one for this year's costume. It prints in 4 distinct parts. I highly recommend using supports to make the eyes easier to clean up. The total time spent on priming, sanding, and reapplying primer was approximately 3 hours, while painting took around 4 hours. My Maker Select V2 printer required about 12-14 hours of printing at a .2 mm layer height, with a speed setting of 60 print/120 travel, using Prospec PLA filament at temperatures of 220/80C. In addition to the printed pieces, you will need fake eyelashes, beading elastic, some kind of thin and stretchy fabric, and a significant amount of patience. If you're looking for inspiration on painting this mask, I recommend checking out some unsettling painting videos for Reborn dolls on YouTube. You can see the mask's jaw in motion here!
