A Gekko - Fixed, Simplified, and Plated
thingiverse
I enhanced the popular "A Gekko" model by Guru and made it more accessible for my kids' school. I simplified its design, reduced the number of vertices from around 16,400 to just 410 (the simplest) and lowered its file size from 1.5MB to a mere 40KB. I also fixed any defects, allowing for successful OpenSCAD rendering and resolving issues like incorrect toe count on the back left leg. Additionally, I created an eight-print plate with tails pointing inwards, which is beneficial for first layer adhesion. All you need to do now is print and distribute these simplified designs.
