A Fully Printable Microscope
thingiverse
To construct this DIY microscope, gather four lenses from disposable cameras along with a light source like an LED or mirror. You can acquire the lenses at a photography store such as Lens and Shutter. The design includes different optical tubes for Fujifilm (11.9mm outer diameter) and Kodak lenses (13.2mm outer diameter). Other lenses may also work. This microscope is expected to have 74x magnification, but the exact value needs confirmation. You can enhance your microscope with a focus lock and a smartphone adapter, both available on Thingiverse. The project was inspired by other projects found online. Print the necessary parts using a Makerbot Rep 2 printer with PLA filament and adjust settings accordingly for optimal results. Please share your feedback after building this microscope.
