A rare Roman marble portrait head of a mature man from the Julio-Claudian era, dating back to the late 1st Century B.C.-1st Century A.D. The well-defined face features a short fringe falling forward across a slightly furrowed brow, measuring 23cm in height. Provenance: Acquired by Felix e Hijo of Seville and later purchased by a private collector in the UK from the same dealer in 1989. This exceptional artifact was part of the Bonhams Antiquities Sale held on July 6th, 2017 at New Bond Street, London. The lot, marked as number 123A, successfully sold for £2,500, including a premium.
