A Feast For Odin Insert/Organizer
thingiverse
I wasn't too comfortable sharing these designs as it's my first attempt, but since they've been made public anyway... well, I figured I might as well share the originals. Uwe Rosenberg's new game for 2016, A Feast For Odin, is a massive cardboard and wood construct. It's an outstanding and intuitive game, but setup and takedown is a real challenge. Since it was so new, no one had created any inserts available for sale so I figured it was a great time to buy a budget-friendly 3D printer, assemble it from subpar parts, find a CAD program, learn how to use it, and create an insert. So, here's the outcome... fifteen pieces. Essentially a spool of filament (perhaps a tad more).. BUT.. the final result is also a game that takes about five minutes to set up. A game which fits back into the box neatly, although I tucked 1-1.5 cm of the punchboards into the bottom of the box to ensure the game doesn't wobble around excessively. I printed the entire thing with .2mm layers. I used a .5 nozzle in Simplify3D laying down filament at a width of .6. I designed the walls at 2.4 mm, so a 2-line border would give me four equal passes with no infill for the basic tiles.
