A Toy Dog\nIn the 1930s, a dog was crafted from fabric and likely filled with sawdust. During this time, Finland was engaged in conflict against the Soviet Union from 1939 to 1944. Thousands of Finnish children, including some quite young, were evacuated to Sweden for safety during the war years. They became known as "War Children." The toy dog belonged to a Finnish War Child living in Sweden and brought solace and comfort, helping them cope with homesickness.
