A diagonal arm end for the Rostock Max to fit a "sturdy stake"
thingiverse
To replace fragile original arms on a Rostock Max 3D printer, print and cut sturdy stakes from Lowes, inserting them into the rod ends. Ensure correct length for even bed plane pressure; adjust firmware if needed. These DIY arm replacements should be stronger than originals but handle with care not to bend axles. For alternative axle material, consider 1/8"x6" aluminum round bar from Lowes after shaping with drill and sandpaper. Secure rod ends at proper distance using nails in scrap wood. Turn on brim for better bed adhesion. To remove staked arms, heat painted black tube with lighter while holding in a binder clip; avoid overheating. Alternatively, try melting part with friction using a drill bit, but handle tube carefully. A screw-mounted rod end could be another option but has not been tested.
