A medallion crafted from a design found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2245887, An Ornament Based on a Stone Carving. To achieve a smoother look, the sharp corners of the ornament were skillfully rounded and its dimensions compressed to create additional intersections. By utilizing six copies of the basic pattern instead of four, more complex patterns emerged, resulting in 30 crossovers altogether. The medallion features a single closed path with alternate crossing over and under movements, reminiscent of traditional Celtic knotwork designs. The provided OpenSCAD code allows for easy customization.
