Crafting an intricately detailed cross in the classic Celtic style, I employed intricate knotwork patterns to create a visually striking piece. Utilizing Hatchbox White PLA filament, I carefully set my 3D printer to print at 20% infill and a precise .175 layer height. By scaling up the design 4 times in Cura, I was able to achieve a finished product that measures 3.25 inches by 1.75 inches. To add depth and dimension to the piece, I applied black acrylic paint, carefully wiping away excess paint from raised sections using rubbing alcohol. Finally, I gently filed the surface to create a smooth, even finish, allowing the intricate details of the knotwork to take center stage.
