A Broadband Antenna Array with 3D-printed Elements and Low Mass
grabcad
An L-band hexagonal antenna array of 7 elements is constructed using thick square patches on a 3D-printed nylon substrate. This structure exhibits impedance matching from 1150MHz to 1600MHz. The array rests on a single PCB, reinforced mechanically by a 3D-printed support beneath it, to minimize flexure. Electromagnetic simulations were conducted using OpenEms (http://www.openems.de).
