a bracket to attach your kinect to a standard tripod
thingiverse
This bracket securely attaches a Kinect sensor to a tripod, perfect for motion capture projects. To create it, I started by placing the sensor on a piece of paper and tracing around its base with precision. Next, I photographed the paper using my phone's camera, capturing a clear image that would serve as a reference point in Maya. The picture was then imported into Maya as an image plane, allowing me to work with it more effectively. In order to get the initial shape of the bracket right, I edited a poly primitive in Maya until it matched the sensor's base. From there, I added brackets and made some finishing touches to give the design a bit of flair. The hole in the middle of the bracket measures 5mm in diameter, providing ample space for tapping a thread on the inside to accommodate a camera (usually 1/4"-20 NC).
