A better Tektronix Probe Sensor Adapter

I recently picked up a second used four channel Tektronix scope from E-bay. The E-bay scope did not come with probes or other hardware. Since I have two other scopes already I have a collection of probes and cables that I want to use with the newly purchased scope without purchasing new ones. The Tek scope has sensing rings around the base of the BNC connector that detects the type of probe attached e.g 1X, 10X, etc. I was not happy with the solutions posted online as a workaround to the sensing ring issue to use newer probes. Some of these solutions were terrible, such as soldering resistors to ground the rings, others were ungainly, such as utilizing O-rings or adapters that affixed to the probe connectors permanently. I desired something that fulfilled the following criteria: • Easy to print • Simple and quick to assemble - Less than 10 minutes! • Inexpensive • Easily removable • Permits the easy transfer of probes from one scope to another • A bit more “elegant” and professional looking than other solutions Full instructions included in PDF.
