The A-803 was a multi-role spacecraft capable of functioning as a medium fighter or light attack craft. The unusual design presented a small cross-section from forward and aft, while the maneuvering thrusters located for from the center of mass made the Super Albatross maneuverable despite its size. Armed with a pair of heavy rotary mass drivers and with ordnance hardpoints on the extreme ends of the wings, the A-803 could do nearly any job required, though there were always specialized craft that did it better. Popular with all sides during the mercenary incursions, though spare parts for the weapons systems were always in short supply. Sadly they were plagued by frequent crashes on landing by inexperienced pilots or by battle damage, as the whole craft had to rotate into landing position for atmospheric flight and the sensitive ships were not fault tolerant. Those who were space-based had much better service records and many are still in private and corporate service to this day.
