A 3D visualization of solar coronal mag.
sketchfab
Contour surfaces exist at the points where the radial component of solar coronal magnetic fields reaches zero, marking the boundary between regions with opposite polarities of these magnetic fields. This boundary area is crucial in solar/helio-physics as it is a hotbed of high magnetic activity within the solar corona, solar wind areas, and the entire heliosphere. The sphere depicted represents the surface of the Sun for reference purposes. This marks my initial test of utilizing Sketchfab, and I successfully converted 3D data from an OBJ file into this format. The underlying 3D model was originally created via a FORTRAN code based on a 3D magnetic field simulation that dates back some time ago. To-do: add texture with actual data images, adjust general color schemes, and enhance transparency levels.
