This is an original design for a full scale side table made entirely from 3d printed parts. It was inspired by the Print-Tables contest, celebrating the launch of Printables.com. Each individual part fits within the build volume of a MK3 printer. The design can also be scaled down to fit smaller printers. I have successfully printed this design at 100% and 40% scale on a MK3, so anything in-between should work fine. The 100% scale print approaches the size of actual furniture. It handles light objects well and can act as a side table beside a bed or chair. The 40% scale print works great as a plant stand or centerpiece. The design uses 3d printed threads and circular retaining features to securely fasten the four table top and base pieces together without the need for non-3d printed parts. This enables the volume of the table to far exceed the build volume of the MK3, while remaining feasible to print. Vertical leg segments with internal and external threads on either end make up most of the vertical height of the table and connect the top to the base.At 100% scale, the top surface is 16 inches in diameter. The standard design uses three leg segments, resulting in a total height of approximately 20.5 inches. Adding in a fourth segment will increase the total height to around 26.5 inches (sacrificing some stability). The fourth image shows the four segment version with a MK3 for scale. (Don’t actually use this as a table for your 3d printer. It is not THAT strong.) Parts List:table_topcenter x1table_topquart x4table_key x8table_ringlock x2table_legseg x3 (or 4)table_botcenter x1table_foot x4 Print Instructions:My first printing of this design at full scale used just under 2 kg of filament. I used PLA for everything. The parts need to fit together closely, so avoid squishing the first layer too far outwards or they will not fit-up. All STL files are saved in the intended print orientation. This design requires robust slicer settings when printing at full scale. A 0.6mm nozzle, 0.35mm layer heights, at least 3 perimeters, and 40% cubic infill are recommended for everything except as follows:-All threads (internal/external): 0.2mm layer heights, at least 6 perimeters.-“table_topquart” and “table_foot”: enable support on build plate only (just needs a very tiny bit of support here).-“table_topquart”: if you are having issues with warping, you can add a brim for this part. Just remove it from the edges carefully.-“table_topcenter” and “table_botcenter”: the raised cylinder in the center of the part needs at least 6 perimeters. -“table_key”: 0.2mm layer height, print entirely out of perimeters. (The “height range modifier” and “add modifier>cylinder” functions in PrusaSlicer are useful for making the settings adjustments above. Just right click on the part in the 3d editor view.)  Assembly Tips:-Assemble the four table_topquart pieces together using the eight table_key pieces. Fit two pairs of quarters into halves, then fit the two halves together.-Press the combined table_topquart pieces down into the groove in the table_topcenter part on a flat surface.-Press a table_ringlock part down on top of the raised circle created by the four table_topquart pieces.-Screw a table_legseg into the table_topcenter threads, joining the top of the table together. Do not overtighten the threads.-Assemble the base of the table similar to the top using the four table_foot pieces, the table_botcenter part, a table_ringlock, and a table_legseg. -Connect the top of the table to the base using the remaining table_legseg pieces.
