9mm Dummy Bullet
thingiverse
Got tons of 9mm casings but don't want to shell out big bucks for Snap Caps? Combine the durability of brass casings and the inexpensive process of printing to make some dummy rounds for yourself for functions checking, training, and display purposes! Print, resize, and glue - it's as simple as that! The lower sides are relieved to allow extra glue and provide insurance against the ATF classifying it as an ammunition component. These inserts occupy the entire interior volume of the casing so they're perfectly sized every time. They will give a COAL of about 28.5mm +/- 1mm, making them compatible with all actions and magazines. If you find them too long or too short, just scale the Z direction in your favorite Slic3r program and print away! I printed 10 of them using only 2.6m of ABS filament, so they're extremely affordable. BATFE Disclaimer: These inserts render a 9mm casing completely inert and unable to be fired even if loaded with a powder charge or primer. They are strictly for display purposes. You may also get in trouble for selling these completed prints without a Class VII Federal Firearms License in the US. Check your local laws before attempting.
