9G - Quadruped
thingiverse
This robot features three degrees of freedom as a quadruped, initially controlled by an Arduino-based FLYDUINO 12 servo controller. However, performance issues have led to a search for an alternative microcontroller. The design includes a body top, bottom, and links (with a long version available for taller 9G servos), joints, leg shields for both left and right sides, a servo frame, and numerous bolts, washers, and nuts. Twelve flange bearings (3x6x3mm) are required, with online retailers typically offering quantities of ten per order. As 9G servos may vary in size, modifications may be necessary to match the components. The original sketch is included in the ZIP attachment. Double-sided tape was used to secure the servos and caps without issues. A video will be released upon identification of a suitable microcontroller. In an update on January 20, 2013, a longer version of the link parts was added between the body plates to address friction caused by taller 9G servos against the servo caps and top plate.
